"For us let it be enough to know ourselves to
be in the place where God wants us, and carry on our work, even though it be no
more than the work of an ant, infinitesimally small, and with unforeseeable
results."

Tax dollars at work
The Christian Century has an important article in the latest "Editor's Desk." Entitled "Tax dollars at work, it reports on what few americans know -- the extent of US military presence around the world. The authors also make pertinent observations about how this pervasive military presence shapes world perceptions of the United States. If anything, the resentment created in local populations by these bases is understated. This is a must read article.
