"For us let it be enough to know ourselves to be in the place where God wants us, and carry on our work, even though it be no more than the work of an ant, infinitesimally small, and with unforeseeable results."

Hey! That's plagiarism. This is almost exactly from a circular letter of Dom Bernardo Olivera, the Abbot General of the Cistercian Order: http://www.osb.org/lectio/olivera.html (vide: point 70).

I don't know how you define plagiarism. The quote clearly refrences the author and the book where the quote was found. If others find the same quote of value and choose to quote it, it is fine as long as they also state it's source. I'm not surprised that the Abbot General of the Cistercian Order appreciates the quote. Pennington was a Cistercian monk.
